Living Room/Area

The Living/Dining Area of the flat was "somewhat" clean enough to take pictures and post them so here they are.

Mike's office still isnt ready so he's been working from home. So his area stays messy! We also have computers spread all over the dining room table as if they were skittles. We have 4 in this tiny room which totally cracks me up.

The flat came furnished. Nothing against all the glass and shiny metal but its just not my first pick if I was the "picker outer". Everything was brand new and after the remodel no one had lived in it before so we got really lucky! Picking out furniture and having it delivered would of taken me MONTHS. You think I'm joking but I'm not. If I've learned one thing since living here the past month is that London does not get in hurry to do anything. Dont even get me started on our hot water problems. But anywho...I choose to be happy so we wont talk about the hot water or lack there of... Instead I'll just keep rocking to Daughtry on my iPod and typing away on this blog post.

As I'm typing by my window that you can see in the picture, I'm overlooking Portobello Road which is a treat, seeing across Notting Hill, Paddington, a touch of Hyde Park, even the steeple of the church that Oscar Wilde was married in, and most of all I SEE SUNSHINE! Now that is something to cheer about!

Speaking of cheering about, I think my pity party about the move is almost over. I'm over it. I mean seriously I am a girl from a small town in TN and now my ass is living in LONDON, LONDON PEOPLE LONDON, one of if not the best city in the world why in the world would I spend it on the couch mooping over missing the CMA's last night. Seriously! I'm over it. Heck, I just spent a week in Egypt, who does that?! Let me just stop for a minute and pinch myself. Things like this just dont happen everyday , if ever! I'm going to Seize the Day! I'm going to show London and the rest of Europe what I can do for it.

Oh by the way, there use to be a LEATHER SHAG RUG under that glass coffee table but it HAD TO GO, I rolled it up and have it in hiding. YES, I SAID SHAG! It was like I was living in a bachelor pad.

I'm pretty lucky to be here and now I'm going to act like it. I'm going to Think Big and Be Bold.

I have either had too much coffee this morning or I just woke up really happy this morning, but either way I'm in London and I need to get off here and go explore while I still see sunshine

Cheers,
WMMc

P.S. Nashville you will always be my first love! I will carry you in my heart always.

  1. You go girl. Attitude is everything. And if it means anything to you, I still get homesick for Nashville even though it's not actually my home. It's just a great place. Luckily, you didn't move to a remote town in Uzbekistan, you moved to FREAKIN' LONDON! So you'll be in love with a new town when it's all over. Great Post!

  2. Your flat looks great!! What agency did you use to find it? I'm moving to London in August and currently in the process of looking for flats. Thanks!

  3. Our relocation agency was MSI, but the Real Estate guys were Foxtons. A good relocation company to check into if you are short on time is London Relocation (located in the heart of Notting Hill)
