Frui Photography Class

Sunday we went to Hampton Court House to take a Frui Photography class so that not only could we see a beautiful old home, we could also learn how to take great pictures with our new Nikon DSLR.

We arrived before anyone else did and was amazed at how gorgeous the grounds were and especially the house.  What a perfect place to learn photography.

Hampton Court House was built by George Montagu Dunk (1716-71), the 2nd Earl of Halifax, for his mistress Mrs. Anna Maria Donaldson in 1757.  He met her while she was singing at Marylebone Gardens and was apparently so impressed by her musical pwers that he "fainted with ecstasy".

During this time she gave birth to two children, George and Anna Maria Montagu.

At one point the house was occupied by the Earl of Sandwich, who was a cousin of Horace Walpole, between 1775-1780.  Earl of Sandwich was a heavy gambler and would often ask for someone to bring him some sliced beef between two pieces of bread and wallah! You have yourself a SANDWICH!

The grounds include a Royal Park, a shell grotto and even a heart shaped lake.

It is now a school and what lucky children they are to have such a beautiful place to learn.

Here are some practice shots I took from my Frui Photography Class:

Cheers,
WMMc
