Ghillie Dhu

A taxi driver, who I might add was hilarious, told us about a place called the "Ghillie Dhu" so the next day after visiting the castle we were wandering around the city and did an "accidental" pub crawl... So we checked it out and really liked it. If we were local we'd be regulars. While I was in the bathroom they were playing Neil Diamonds "Coming to America"...I was hooked from that point on.

We also checked out this place named "Dirty Dicks" located on Rose Street (parallels with Princes Street). I was on the hunt for "Edinburgh Gold".  I found it and was happy. However, when we received the beers (the ones in the picture) Mike said I smell "dog asshole" (laugh out loud here) and he wasn't sure if it was his mug or his beer. I smelled mine and was now also concerned by a curious smell coming from my beverage.  Didn't stop us from drinking them though.  After those were gone we left.

I left thinking to myself "How does Mike know what a dog asshole smells like"?
