What is Wedge Card?

Wedge Card is a reward card for these local and independent shops that gives you discounts for shopping locally and helps promote and protect independent traders.Local shops are the buzz on your high streets. They are the friendly faces, the unique products and the personalised advice. They are the lifeblood of our communities. We want you to take a walk around your local shops with your Wedge Card and feel the buzz on your local High Street!

How do I get a Wedge Card?

Cards are free in areas where we are sponsored and £10 in areas where we aren't. Visit The Card to find out more. When purchasing a card, there is a £10 fee per year, £1 of which goes to a local charity. You can find out which charities we support in your local area on our charities page. The other £9 helps Wedge administer the set-up of your Card and ultimately helps us strengthen the community further. Your Card will be valid for a year, a small price to pay for such a great variety of independent shops and quality offers. Most Wedge members find that they recoup the initial cost in just a few weeks.

If you know someone without internet access who would like a Wedge Card, we can always send them out the old fashioned way, via snail mail, so just get in Contact.

Who is behind Wedge Card?

Wedge Card is the brainchild of Diana Bird and her father John Bird, founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Big Issue. It was launched in December 2006 and their idea is all about keeping local, independent shops alive and thriving because they make our communities buzz.

Where can I use my Wedge Card?

The network of Wedge businesses is growing rapidly. Simply use our maps and database to find out which businesses are Wedged-up in your local area, and what their special offer is! A myriad of businesses are on board - from butchers to florists, accountants to pubs. All you have to do is have your Wedge Card at the ready to present when you come to pay. And you can use it at any Wedge shop, countrywide. Wedge shops also display our handsome Wedge window sticker and have their offers on show in-store.
