Remember, Remember the 5th of November...

Before I finish telling you about my last two Nashville food spots... I'm going to tell you about my first night to ever celebrate Guy Fawkes night in London :)

The bonfire at our Guy Fawkes night garden party
Our garden throws an annual Firework/bonfire night to celebrate Guy Fawke's night!!  Guy Fawkes is the guy who tried to blow up Parliament in 1605, but failed... (think V for Vendetta or just click here) Approximately 800 people were there including our group of 8.  When we arrived we were met with tiki torches to show us the way to the bonfire where inside was a burning an effigy of Guy Fawkes (kindy creepy), there was a cute area set up selling mulled wine and sausage rolls, sparklers twinkling all over the place, kids running around, and everyone just truly loving and taking in an absolutely perfect fall evening.  We were also treated with roughly a 10 minute firework show!

All this excitement can make one hungry so before we went over to the fall festivities at the garden we had everyone over to our place for some comfort food.  I made Martha Stewart's macaroni and cheese, homemade meatballs with a creamy dijon mustard sauce for dipping, veggie tray with homemade ranch dressing, and cherry tomato and fresh mozzarella ball skewers (YUM!) Oh yeah, I should also mention I had Krispy Kreme donuts available for dessert (Double yum!)

my crew watching the firework show
After the garden party wrapped up we after partied at our place where we took part in adult beverages and sang all the fun tunes that we could find on iTunes and Grooveshark.  I'm pretty sure I embarrassed myself with singing too loud not to mention out of tune... but it was a great time nonetheless!

I'm pretty sure every Saturday night is suppose to be like that! Fun, fun, and fun.

  1. Very cool. I was at a rugby game that day and then was too tired to try to make it out for fireworks. I guess I'll celebrate next year!
