Amico Bio

Our new favorite restaurant! In fact the best we've had in London so far.

Amico Bio

Amico Bio - The first Vegetarian, Organic, Italian Restaurant in London.

Head chef Pasquale Amico and his two cousins have opened a new restaurant called Amico Bio “Green Thinking-Better Living”. The first vegetarian-Organic-Italian-Restaurant in London.

The menu is all vegetarian-organic and the ingredients are from the family farm located in Capua, Italy. We offer a range of vegan and gluten-free dishes. Pasquale creates traditional Italian dishes using only fresh seasonal products.

I took Mike here last Saturday and by Monday we were already back for more!
The place is tucked away on a quiet street near Barbican and St. Paul's Tube Station. While eating there the other night I could see St. Bartholomew-the-Great church (been there since 1123) through the window.  The staff is amazing. So nice and attentive.  Luca and Pasquale are so friendly they make you feel like you are family and just over for dinner at their home.  Not to mention their prices are fantastic!

Our favorites so far are their: Ravioli, Cauliflower Fritters, Eggplant Parmigiana, Oven roasted red peppers with olives, courgette (zucchini), capers, and then drizzled with olive oil, tiramisu, Samuel Smiths Organic Lager, and who knows what's next. All I can see is Wow! So worth the trip to that side of town!

They have a few staples on the menu and then change it up every few days so they only make what's fresh.

Now for some pictures. Some are taken with my blackberry and others with a very old point and shoot so the quality isn't that great.
Home made ravioli
Cauliflower Fritters
I think this dish is called "Tortino?" It's over roasted red peppers, capers, olives, courgette,etc...
Eggplant Parmigiana-This picture does not give this dish justice. It was the best eggplant parmigiana that we have ever eaten. OMG that tomato sauce was SOOO good. Eggplant cooked perfectly!
Tiramisu

I'll probably see you there. I'm hungry for it again already.

Cheers,
WMMc
