Stateside Weekend Recap

Thursday we took off for Princeton, New Jersey for Sam's wedding. A guy Mike went to Boston College with.  We landed and arrived to our hotel around 11/1130pm... Off to sleep we go. Heck, I even fell asleep with the TV on (I never do that).

Next morning we wake up had an over priced hotel breakfast and head to the train station to go to New York City for the day. All Mike's idea... I was impressed.  We arrive at Penn Station... walk out and head to Macy's on 34th Street for some grown up gloves.

After that I passed a Garrett's Popcorn place! (Garrett's started in Chicago) I LOVE that popcorn so I decided that a small caramel and cheddar mix was going to be my lunch. I know...Not very healthy, but OH SO DELICIOUS!
Garrett's Popcorn! YUM!
Then for a quick stroll through Times Square!

Then off to Rockefeller Center to check out this years Christmas Tree and the Ice Rink!
Saturday we woke up and strolled around Princeton, NJ. If you have never been it is simply adorable.  First thing we did was stroll around the campus of Princeton University.  Mike fell in love with it immediately and wanted to enroll or teach there I couldn't tell.

Jasna Polana
Now for the reason we made the long trip in the first place... Sam's Wedding at Jasna Polana former home of John Seward Johnson I and his wife, he died and then it later turned into a country club/TPC Golf Course.

The wedding was a lot of fun, beautiful location, beautiful dresses everywhere, good food, a belly dancer, terrific band, a photo booth, an open bar which later caused someone to think it was okay to pee in the front fountain and someone else pee'ed on the side of the place (not good boys, not good), but most of all it allowed Mike to catch up with BC friends that he had not seen in way too long. Seeing how happy he was to catch up and laugh with everyone was well worth the long flight.

Good Times!

Cheers,
