Royal Wedding: April 29, 2011
Today the world will be watching as William and Kate say their "I do's" at the breathe taking beautiful history filled Westmister Abbey. (If you've never been I highly recommend the verger guided tour...call ahead to reserve)
William and Kate met while at college at St. Andrew's and dated off and on for roughly 8 years until the day he got down on one knee in Kenya and proposed to Kate.
Ever since they announced their engagement the world has been buzzing with Royal Wedding talk... England is raising one Union Jack Flag after another in preparation for the big day. In fact, they just raised 200 Union Jack flags over Regent Street stretching from Piccadilly Circus to Oxford Circus. We went last night to check out the "Britishness".

Some things I learned during all the Royal Wedding buzz:
- Prince Charles has never squeezed his own toothpaste
- Princess Diana died almost a year to the day of her divorce from Prince Charles
- Prince Charles was already in love with Camilla before ever marrying Diana. He was not allowed to marry anyone other than an aristocrat and she also had to be a virgin
- The Queen has 80+ members of staff... 3 of whom are her full time drivers. Who needs 3?
- The Queen told William he could marry whomever he wanted to...no restrictions.
- It costs £290 million a year to care for the Royal family
- Princess Diana got £350,000 a year for her offices, a settlement of £17 million, joint custody and a title change in the divorce from Charles
- Diana stated that there were always 3 people in her marriage (Camilla) and she didn't like that...that's why they had problems... Diana also admitted to adultery herself.
- Princess Diana: On her father's side, she was a descendant of King Charles II of England through four illegitimate sons
- Diana's parents divorces when she was 7 because her mother had an affair with a married man. Her father raised her... later he also followed suit and had an affair with a married woman
- Kate Middleton's father recently completed his family crest. Apparently Kate will need one now that she is entering the Royal family.

She also lived in a double apartment at Kensington Palace located just around the corner from where I live today. She lived there from the time she married Prince Charles to the time of her death.
