The power of the produce market strikes again!
I saw these fresh artichokes the other day on Portobello Road at the produce stands, they were only 50p so I thought dang! that's a deal I'm going to buy them and try to learn how to cook them.
I come home and head to the internet for "how to cook these artichokes" information.
I took pictures along the way so now I will walk you through my first time of cooking a big artichoke.
First: I cut off the stem and 1/3 of the top, squirted a half lemon and some olive oil over the top and stuck in a few garlic cloves. |
Wrapped the up and stuck them in an oven at 425 degrees (F) for 1.15 minutes - 1.5hours |
Mike eating away... |
and then we got to the hearts which is suppose to be the best part and it was GROSS and we did NOT eat... Mike thinks maybe the artichoke was too big and old? | |
Will I make another one sometime? Probably not...
