Friday we jumped on the 9:20 A.M. train with all our bags, my cold that had been around since Tuesday and some friends. We arrived in Stockport (a friend said that it was a sh*thole), got the rental car and off to
Hardwick Hall to get our Stately Home high... The grounds were beautiful. Mike and I did not go in, we walked Rosie (our friends dog) while she was checking out the inside of the house. Apparently the lady who owned this home was the 2nd most powerful woman in Britain in her time, only the Queen trumped her.

Once everyone had finished touring the
Hardwick Hall, we headed off to our B&B "
Highcroft House". Mike and I had never stayed in a B&B before so we weren't really sure what to expect, but we did know that no strangers would be there because we had taken every room in the house (4 rooms in total).
We arrived and the home was beautiful. The grounds were BEAUTIFUL and so was the view.
Here are some pictures of our room:

Tomorrow you will see some outside shots of the house and what Mike and I visited while everyone else was taking a 10 mile hike...
