Oh! How I love QVC let me count the ways...
QVC London |
Last Thursday I got to do a little freelancing and assist on the set for the Plaid/Martha Stewart Show (crafts) on QVC London.
My job was to assist with anything and everything with the set for the show... unpacking...checking... more checking... building/arranging the set... making sure the stopper is removed from all the paint bottles so that the paint actually comes out during the demo's on the show (simple, but OH SO IMPORTANT! seconds matter people! seconds matter! This is TV!)... after the show...removing the set items, then packing it all up and then preparing everything for shipping, etc.... I got to do that kind of stuff... and guess what?! I LOVED IT! Just being in the QVC London building excites the heck out of me! I was on cloud 9,000 ALL DAY LONG! Needless, to say I COULD NOT STOP TALKING when I got home AND I could NOT fall asleep.
Also, the free cafe mocha's from the fancy coffee and tea machine sure didn't hurt my feelings!
Alex, the VP of Licensing for Martha Stewart was the guest host on the actual show and he was a really nice guy. OMG! Does that man know his paint color names. I was seriously impressed. During the hour segment I was in the green room watching the show and all the sales tickers. It was so exciting. I felt like I was at the Derby cheering for my horse. I LOVED IT! I was also thinking in the back of my mind how much I really want to be the one doing the guest hosting!
Assisting was great though, I learned A LOT and that is always a good thing. I'm hoping with time and more practice I WILL be the one doing the guest hosting. I've already passed the guest host audition for QVC London so now it's just a waiting game.
I also met Anna Griffin while I was at QVC. That was such a treat! Anna Griffin is the goddess of paper goods. I'm sure you have seen her ads in any and every Martha Stewart or O magazine... She actually gave Mike and I our wedding invitations as a gift. HOW FABULOUS IS THAT? VERY! I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED my wedding invitations. Did I say how much I LOVED my Anna Griffin wedding invitations?

Fingers crossed for good things to come because this girl could use a job and a job that makes her this excited.
Oh my goodness! I bet you were just beside yourself. I know I would be! What a great thing to do!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't believe it--if I hadn't been there-- to watch you love, LOVE, LOVE it. You were fun to be with and I can't say that I don't share your enthusiasm for electronic retailing, as well. You will be a big star--you have that exceptional quality (and I know it when I see it)! Good luck, it's only a matter of time.
