August...oh my!

August is going to be a fabulous yet crazy month...  We are going to be traveling as if our life depended on it.

This weekend Edinburg, Scotland... Where we will see the castle, hear the cannon go off at 1pm, hope to get a picture with the Piper and eat at the Witchery (recommended by a friend)...

Next weekend Stockholm, Sweden... I hope to see my friend Madeleine that I haven't seen since college.

Then the next off to Munich, Germany where we will be touring BMW (Yah!) and Third Reich(Boo!)...Something tells me that we may end up in a beer garden and eating a pretzel.

The next I'm going to Axminster (3 hours by train) with my friend Ena to explore, stay in a farmhouse (Trill Farm), feed some animals, maybe ride a bike, and then the next day learn to make various breads at River Cottage... I have a feeling Mike will sleeping like a baby while I'm gone... I'll actually only be gone Sunday morning-Monday night.

And then to top it off we go to Moscow, Russia where me and the Kremlin will come face to face.  Going to Russia was not easy nor was it cheap.  First I had to talk Mike into going to Moscow and not St. Petersburg. I had to make him realize that if we never go to Russia again our eyes must see the Kremlin that one and only time that we may ever be there.
So once I took care of that... Off to a world of paperwork... To go to Russia you must first get a tourist visa...to get that you fill out a way too long application, get Russian size passport photo to go with the application, take the application to the application center, pay way too much money for tourist visa, go back the next day to pick up your passport (we had to overnight because we never know what Mikes work schedule is going to be like) Book your flight, book your hotel and then you realize its $125 from the airport to the hotel by taxi and $125 to get back to the airport. OUCH! Still looking into other ways to get to/from the airport.

I am going to be a picture taking mad woman! I feel so sorry for Mike! Snap Snap Snap Snap Snap Snap Snap Snap Snap Snap Snap... Oh yeah and Snap... Snap... Just one more... Snap...

Cheers,
WMMc
