While making the rounds in the States at one point we were in Lake Lanier staying on the Key Lime Pie house boat with my in-laws preparing for a baby shower (No, not mine). My sister-in-law is due in late August/early September.
This was our first time sleeping on a house boat and trust me we were a little unsure of this idea that Mike Sr. had been pushing, but in the end in the words of dear Uncle Eddie, "It didn't suck as much as we thought it would." In fact, it didn't suck at all.
There was the small issue of our ceiling being 3 feet from my head when laying down (I'm claustrophobic), but other than that, it was great.
It was a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, full size kitchen, surround sound, TV's in every room, upper deck with bar, slide, central air, patio tiki bar area, and a perfect coffee "on demand" machine.
When it comes to a party my in-laws do not hold back on the food. We had tons, it was oozing from the fridge and every counter.
On baby shower day, everyone arrived and 30+ people later the fun began. The boat was packed, people were eating, drinking, and having a great time.
Heck, at one point half of the guests were in the lake going for a swim and taking turns going down the slide (No, again Not Me...who do you think took all these pictures?), after present time (after all it was a baby shower) the Captain arrived and took us out for a 3 hour joy ride. It was a perfect day! Thank you Mike Sr. & San!
The boat owner (a super nice lady!) even made everyone Key Lime Pie shirts and gave the girls candles to take home. How Sweet Is That! Thank you Carol!
For some reason I waited until last to pick up my shirt... XL or XXL were left, soooo not like me to wait... Won't happen again.
I won't be surprised if the McCooey blow up Christmas Trees make an appearance at some point on a house boat...
Cheers,
WMMc
