My night with Snow Patrol & Royal Albert

Snow Patrol at Royal Albert Hall- November 25 -a 3 night sell out -
www.snowpatrol.com
www.royalalberthall.com ( I recommend taking the virtual tour)

Over the weekend I was researching concerts in the area, so I can become "one" with new environment. Concerts are my vice. Some people like to smoke, drink, swear, etc... I like to A) Travel and B) go to concerts...
while searching out of no where Snow Patrol appeared...playing R.A.H. and a 3 night show at that! As luck would have it every night was sold out.

(Background info. before I left Nashville I had tickets to see them at the Ryman and due to the move I couldn't go (insert not happy here)....)

So I got on gumtree.com and looked for tickets. Found a guy with tickets and thought I had them until 2 hours before the show, he sent me a text and told me he sold them (insert a few mean thoughts about him and his rudeness here)

So Plan B kicked in, we go to the Royal Albert Hall and hoped for scalpers. The stars must of been in line as they say because the first scalper we saw had 2nd row tickets and we only paid 10 GBP over face an hour before the show, which I was fine with. I was going to this show. Mike thought it was too easy and we could of gotten a better deal from him but I didn't want to spend the time haggling (which is weird for me)....

Tickets in hand. We walk around and admire the outside of the Hall and then head inside. The closer we got to the seats the more and more we were amazed that not only were these our seats basically sitting on the stage with the bad but at the pure beauty of this venue. It was like nothing I had ever been in to see a rock concert. Mike even uttered the words "this place is amazing" he may of even said "gorgeous" at one point, which made me very happy because I had just taken him to a concert of a band he did not know, he knew maybe 1 of their songs.

Afterwards I asked him on a scale of 1 to 10 what he thought and he gave it a "7" which I think is pretty good since he did not know the band.

I on the other hand was in Concert Heaven. Yes Ladies and Gentleman, Concert Heaven!

I have been to probably 500 concerts and when it comes to the band, the sound, the venue, my seat and just overall everything THIS WAS THE BEST SHOW IN THE BEST VENUE THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO so Thank You Mike for going with me and sharing that with me. The band sounded amazing, the sound in that hall is unreal its so terrific.

They filmed the show for a DVD so make sure you buy one, we just might be in it, you never know... Due to the filming and the fact that playing in this Hall was their dream they went all out...the stage backdrops were perfect, they had every instrument known to man, but the cowbell on stage and if you notice in the picture above the ORGAN, I SAID ORGAN PEOPLE! Look at it! Its bigger than most peoples homes. IT WAS GLORIOUS! (insert a Joey Lawrence "woo" here)

At one point the lead singer, Gary, got off stage and walked through the crowd hugging people, that was the first time I had seen that, it was kind of sweet, sort of Holiday Festive if you will...

The show was so perfect it almost feels like it couldn't of possibly happened. Shows just don't come around like this one very often.

*Insert apology here to the Ryman (in Nashville) my first love when it comes to venues*

Snow Patrol is a Northern Irish Alternative Rock Band from Northern Ireland and Scotland formed at the University of Dundee in 1994 with worldwide albums sales surpassing 10 million sold.

You may of seen or heard them on Saturday Night Live 2007 or possibly in the film SpiderMan 3...

As for my little trivia: The band also owns a stake in the Houndstooth Pub in NYC.

As for Royal Albert Hall, its simply gorgeous and perfect in every way to me, my seat even swiveled in the direction I wanted to be facing. It opened in March 1871 by Queen Victoria for her husband King Albert. It is used for the Arts & Sciences.

The likes of The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix, and even Jay-Z and The Killers have performed in the Hall.

As for leading figures who have spoken here...Sir Winston Churchill (Mike loves Winston), Nelson Mandela, The Dali Lama and oh yes...wait for it...FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA MR. BILL CLINTON.

Last night was perfect and I am so happy!

Great job Gary, Nathan, Paul, Jonny, Tom and special guest Andrea Corr of the band The Corrs who sang "Set the Fire to the Third Bar" with the band.

Cheers & May Everyone Rock This Thanksgiving!
